Summer Trips

One week trip to Rainy Lake, on the Minnesota/ Canadian Border is great way to get away from it all. Relaxing, getting close to God’s creation, watching beautiful sunsets, crystal clear water, friends, time for reflection, stories of faith, Bible study, singing, laughing, eating delicious food are some of the things experienced on a week long Houseboat trip. No phones, computers, jobs, curling irons, blow dryers, make-up, television, boom boxes, headsets, household chores, or other distractions. This is truly a week to get away and be renewed!

A new site for a servant trip is chosen for each summer. We have all been called to serve and so a servant trip is a chance for us to follow Gods call. Each of us to develop new skills, exhibit leadership and practice old skills. We’ll do a variety of projects, sometimes we work on homes to prepare them for families who don’t have a home, sometimes we will do other projects within the community we travel to. No matter where we go, we will experience God’s creation while helping others. Talk to anyone who has been on a Service trip before and they will tell you it is a life-changing experience!!

Every three years youth and adults travel across the country to participate in the ELCA National Youth Gathering. Less than a year from now Trinity will take a group to New Orleans, Louisiana for the 2009 National Youth Gathering!  Traveling in 2 coach buses, we will travel south for an experience of a lifetime! Before the gathering the group will travel to Memphis to experience some music culture, then head on to Pensacola Beach for some fun in the sun, all while growing as a family and having meaningful and fun experiences together before attending this life changing gathering!

Namasté! As a tri-annual trip Trinity’s youth go to India, seeking to further our relationship with Lutheran Churches from the Andra Evangelical Lutheran Church in India, and particularly the REACH Orphanage in Bapatla, India. Our goal as Friends in Faith is to help youth to look outside their own homes, community and congregation to serve ALL God’s people regardless of proximity, wealth or belief. We believe that sister synod trips to India help us to further our belief in helping youth to seek God in the other. This trip is open to applicants that are between 10-12th grades.
